چکیده

Simulation models are often used to select alternatives to system designs. A model of a simulation model, referred to as ametamodel, can be used to explore the functional relationships between the mean response of a simulation model and a set of simulation input variables. The estimated metamodel is then used to predict the system response for speci ed sets of input variables and to identify the optimal operating conditions for the input variables. Previous work in this area has included Schruben and Margolin (1978), Hussey, Myers, and Houck (1987), Law and Kelton (1991), Sargent (1992), Donohue, Houck, and Myers (1992), Song and Su (1996), and Barton (1997). This paper has proposed an e ective pseudo-random number assignment strategy (called Q-MB strategy) for estimating the second-order metamodels for 3-FAC designs. We have shown that the proposed strategy outperforms well-known existing strategies, including the IR, CR, and modi ed-AR strategies in terms of A-optimal and D-optimal criteria. We can summarize the idea behind the Q-MB strategy as follows. First, all design points are partitioned into as many orthogonal blocks as possible such that no metamodel coe cients are confounded. These blocks are then arbitrarily grouped into pairs, each of which contains two blocks. Finally, we assign a common stream set to the design points in the same block, antithetic stream sets to the two blocks in the same pair, and independent stream sets to blocks in di erent pairs or to an unpaired block if there is one.

A more accurate second-order polynomial metamodel using a pseudo-random number assignment strategy

The response surface metamodel is a useful sequential methodology for approximating the relationship between the input variables and the output response in computer simulation. Several strategies have been proposed to increase the accuracy of the estimation of the metamodel. In the current paper, we introduce an effective pseudo-random number (PRN) assignment strategy with Box-Behnken design to...

نقش اعداد تصادفی در شبیه سازی و بررسی تحلیلی الگوریتم‌های تولید اعداد تصادفی و ارائه روش تلفیقی جدید

Abstract: Analyzing different issues of most systems, particularly their design, implementation, and development, requires some sort of techniques which are capable of studying their special conditions in stochastic states. Simulation is regarded as one of the most efficient methods for this purpose in the area of engineering, systems, and management. Studying and analyzing a system under spe...

Probit-Based Traffic Assignment: A Comparative Study between Link-Based Simulation Algorithm and Path-Based Assignment and Generalization to Random-Coefficient Approach

Probabilistic approach of traffic assignment has been primarily developed to provide a more realistic and flexible theoretical framework to represent traveler’s route choice behavior in a transportation network. The problem of path overlapping in network modelling has been one of the main issues to be tackled. Due to its flexible covariance structure, probit model can adequately address the pro...

Asymmetric Problems and Stochastic Process Models of Traffic Assignment

There is a spectrum of asymmetric assignment problems to which existing results on uniqueness of equilibrium do not apply. Moreover, multiple equilibria may be seen to exist in a number of simple examples of real-life phenomena, including interactions at priority junctions, responsive traffic signals, multiple user classes, and multi-modal choices. In contrast, recent asymptotic results on the ...
